Belated review of the film «Matrix: Resurrection»

Eighteen years … It took so much time that a new part of the franchise was born «matrix«. During this period of time, many managed to resign, as that tells. And she tells that only we ourselves put restrictions on ourselves and subconsciously want to get out of daily conventions. How a new part copes with this? It shifts the vector somewhat and focuses on the fact that now it is important not criticism of the regime, but individual freedom, which everyone understands by their own. But is it bad? Personally, I don’t think so. Some rethinking of the concept is also great. A logical question arises: whether the film was successful? Let’s figure it out!

First of all, the film meets us with a motley visual, which, as for me, does not cause rejection, but is personally associated with me with a “cloud atlas” and its rich (as well as, colorful) picture, which looks very vividly and fresh in a grim -green visual style of the original trilogy (and how many disputes about this was; however, not everything is so terrible).

The second interesting scenario find is humor and breaking the fourth wall (and let the stone abandon the stone at least instinctively at least at times did not consider the trilogy too seriously), which are expressed in the self -irony and ridicule of some aspects of the popularity of the original trilogy among the widespread masses;

And, most importantly, to the third: in the film, throughout the timing, the topics of alienation, mirroring and illusory of choice are disturbed, which this time is perceived not to say that it is difficult, but not too easy. However, if you watch the film carefully and analyze what the characters say, then to think of the plot canvas will, in general, will be a simple task.

By the way, about the characters: what they turned out this time?

– Let’s start with Neo; Now he is more like an enlightened Messiah than in a trilogy, which has doubts about whether he wants to reject the usual, and, at the same time, of great importance for the real world;

BAGZ – a character – an engine that pulls the narrative in many cases on itself, the motives of which are quite simple;

Morpheus – how much criticism around the new actor was! However, he played his role very well and approached it very carefully, fulfilling his main goal – to show a peculiar conductor;

Trinity – this time it is she who knows what is illusory and everyday life every day, the end of which can only put the case;

Analyst – a sort of architect V7.0, for which only equations and manipulations are still important;

And, in conclusion, Captain Nobie – unfortunately, she spun me simply incredibly because even in the trilogy was an absolutely meaningless and merciless character, whose actions were not worth the salvation of Zion, in the end, nothing, and in this film her behavior is not otherwise than insanity, you will not call it.

So what happens? The film has no minuses? Not at all! Here’s what I think about this:

Pros: script; Visual style (believe me, I hesitated for a very long time, whether to relate it to the minus); a kind of remake of the concept of the trilogy, which is perceived quite fresh; Interesting characters (one analyst alone is worth it); The action that is not enough stars from the sky, but it is also impossible to call it frankly bad either; acting, dialogs and pumped from the time of the “revolution” CGI (but only in the real world);

Cons: some protractedness, Merovingen (yes, this is a minus; when look, you will understand why); Flashbacks, which do not radically affect anything (their meaning is explained in the film itself).

As a result, «Matrixit seems at all that it is at all what is the first 28 minutes (and this is a continuous “hi – hi”, “ha – ha), but later it makes a U -turn, figuratively speaking, 360 degrees and begins to set correct accents and ask completely logical questions so that the viewer is easier to understand the essence. Deep philosophy, however, is not expected, but constantly following this scenario course it will not work out for simple reasons: the threshold of entry must be periodically changed, otherwise self -regionalists will go; In addition, this is good for covering a potential new audience. Rather, the film is deep in the small things that are difficult to describe in words (to compose a whole idea of what I am writing, you need to watch it myself or myself).

Whether the new «became»matrix»Easier in terms of perception? Definitely, yes. Whether it made her worse? Everyone decides for himself. You can call me a person who was “bought” by nostalgia, you can say that I do not understand anything in the cinema, however, I do not consider the fourth part better than “rebooting”, “revolution” and even more so, the first part (but I don’t feel negativity for it) because I was not waiting for anything and I was really interested to look at the concept a little on the other side. We can say that from the fourth part I even got, my kind, pleasure. What will happen to the franchise further? Time will show…

P. S. Why am I writing my own opinion? Because I am a longtime fan of the franchise and by default I can not help but talk about the new film. It’s alright, it’s ok, as they say.

P.P.S. If you are interested in how the fourth part with a traditional green color could look like a correction, then try to look for a fan version of the film called «Matrix 4 – what it should be» (yes, it is called). Personally, I recommend looking at my own peril and risk, however, I did not like how this very color corner is imposed, which turns all the characters into shreaks from the cartoon of the same name and the very copyright «vision», thanks to which most of the dialogs went under the knife and are mainly left by the most spectacular moments. This, as for me, is very distorting the original idea of the fourth «matrix».
