Poets of the Fall -Stunning rock band playing alternative, software and indie rock, which I met after the song «Late Goodbye«, who immediately won my heart and thanks to her I really fell in love with this group and follow it to this day.
Potf occupies a very large place in the gaming industry for the rock band, because from the very appearance they collaborated with Remedy. Marco Saharest (vocal) wrote “Late Goodbye”, sitting on the floor of the kitchen, based on a poem written by the author of the script for “Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne” the Yarvi himself (real name Sam Lake).
An interesting fact: A poem that formed the basis of the song, Sam Lake wrote when he saw a bright and memorable dream. (Directly, like Cameron)
Marco Saharest about the story of the song:
The guys from Remedy had heard our music before and asked us to write a song for the game. We gladly agreed. Sam Lake sent me a poem that he wrote, and said that for poems I can use any images that she will take in my head. It was great when I had inspiration in the process of working on the song. The same night I sat on the floor of the kitchen with my guitar and wrote a song.

A couple of interesting excerpts from an interview with Marco:
She was in the game with Sam Lake and me … Sam Lake is the scriptwriter of the game. Once we went home, or I threw it home, then something else. And we said how cool it would be if one of our songs appeared in one of their projects. But then there was not even a conversation in which their project, when and what kind of song it should be. But Sam introduced it to the people from Remedy, and they liked this idea.
So, three weeks later, Sam called me and asked, I could not write a couple of songs and see what could turn out. I presented a couple to choose from and they chose “Late Goodbye”. And then she was sent all over the world to various publishers and others who could influence the project. Some bumps listened to our demo with singing under the guitar and said that this is a good song that can be included in the game. The rest is already a story, and the song was in the game.
The essence of the song Marco explained as follows:
This song is about how you fall into a gloomy situation and should make a difficult decision in order to get the opportunity to move on. And although I wrote the words, taking as a basis the poem by Sam Lake, the scriptwriter of the game, they went through the very millstones that all other songs from the album “Signs of Life” ..
The next single was called https://slots-bonus.co.uk/ «Lift» and was released on September 15, 2004. Like “Late Goodbye”, the composition “Lift” accompanied the credits, but this time not in the game, but in the 3DMark05 Benchmark program (a number of graphic tests calculating the performance of the computer video system). Lift’s bonus track – the ballad “The Beautiful One”, which continues the romantic line of songs Potf. The main radio stations of Finland included Lift in their repertoire, and later the song took second place in the category «Best Track of the Year».
An interesting fact: At the time of release, the song was called «Lift Me Higher»

Welcome to Bright Falls
Alan Wake is a 2010 computer game developed by the Finnish company Remedy Entertainment and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The developers defined the genre of the game as a «psychological action triller». Initially, the project was an exclusive for Xbox 360, and went on sale on May 14, 2010.
Alan Wake events take place in the fictional American town of Bright Falls. The protagonist of the game, writer Alan Wake, is trying to find a missing wife and faces a supernatural dark essence, possessing the city and its environs at night. Finding the scattered pages of his own manuscript, Wake understands that his adventures obey the plot of the novel written and forgotten by him. The Finnish actor and screenwriter Ilkka Willy became a model for creating a character in Alan Waika.
On June 9, 2010, the premiere of the clip for the song “War” from the 4th studio album “Twilight Theater”, which was not written for the game, but in the end it got into the soundtrack thanks to Sam Lake, which considered the song an inseparable part of the game. The full composition of Potf and Ilka Willy took part in the filming of the clip, who, in fact, presented his appearance and voice to Alan and Mr. Skretch. The song can be heard in the radio closer to the end of the game.

Rochard (2011)
The soundtrack of the Rochard space platformer, published in 2011, wrote the group of the group – Marcus Captain Kaarlonen. Also in the soundtrack entered the song «Grinder’s Blues», which sounds at the very beginning of the game! (Actually, only because of this I bought the game)
Quantum Break (2016)
Unfortunately, not a single Poets of the Fall song was included in the new Remedy game, but there is an Easter bar on them – the song “Children of the Elder God”, which is successfully about@%*Li people who did localization. But, nevertheless, here it is:
I hope that in the future Remedy and Potf will work together and do something magnificent 🙂 (obviously, it will not be Crossfire 2! Who knows, he will understand what I mean.)
Thank you for reading! I hope you liked it!
P.S. By the way, it was the first games of Remedy, Potf and another Finnish rock band HIM influenced the choice of my nickname! I think this is noticeable, but this is another story ..
P.P.S. It is worthy of mention: Marco Saharest gave appearance to one of the characters of the original Max Payne – Vladimir Lemo.
Thank you very much to Vladimir Ivanov for informing me! I forgot about it ..
